Changing the ruling in "Citizens United" is futile.

Bernie Sanders attack on the Supreme Court's 5 to 4 decision in the "Citizens United" case, that permits unlimited money contribution to 'independent' PACS ( Political Action Committees) is a futile attempt to 'get money out of our politics'. Of course Bernie, his followers, and many others who share the objective of getting the influence of money out of our politics are correct in their objective: getting the Oligarchic donors who buy and sell our representatives for the benefit of the Oligarchs is a necessary task to get Representative government to work.  But as long as there are Representatives to be bribed they will be bribed, Constitutional Amendment, Congressional laws simply won't stop the Oligarchs buying Representatives.

The solution is to remove the Representatives from the government. If there are no Representatives to make the laws they can't be bribed. And no Representatives implies that the people must muscle up to the task and vote directly on the laws under which they live. We the People must make our own laws, debate them before voting on them, and then vote.

The Founding Fathers ( read this as the founding Oligarchs ) did not believe man was wise enough to govern himself; or at least they shouldn't be allowed to govern themselves in defiance of the wiser, better, more Oligarchic path of having only land owning, college educated, better trained in political science, members of the intelligentsia, that is, men like the Founding Fathers as the Executives and legislative Representatives, and Judges of the United States of America. The Founding Fathers fixed things so the people never vote directly on the laws they live under, never directly vote for the Executives, and never vote, directly or otherwise, on the Judges. The power of the people, the power of the citizens, and responsibility of the citizens, to govern themselves was removed from the citizens by the Constitution when it made the Legislature a set of elected Representatives, the Executives selected by members of the electoral College, and Judges appointed for life by the Chief Executive, with the 'advice and consent' of the Senate.  The Representatives that stand between the people and laws they live under, between the people and the Executives who Administer the Laws, who stand between the people and the Judges who interpret the laws are the governing bodies of this land, and not the people, certainly, not the people. Andit is so because the people are not wise enough to govern themselves.

To get these Representatives, who Represent their own views, their own prejudices, and the views and prejudices of the Oligarchs who bribe them to Represent the views of the people has proven nearly impossible. I admit it does happen, but much too infrequently.

To end the Oligarchy of the United States, we must end the Republic of the United States and found the Democracy of the United States where the people vote on the laws, the Executives, and the Judges without someone between them and the laws, Executives, and Judges. We must have an Actual Democracy.

Back to Equality and Freedom: Amend the Constitution to vote on the laws

With the election over - or not, recounts are ongoing - We must turn to the solving the problem of representative democracy, of our Representatives, and to take back the power of voting for people and make it voting for laws, executives, and judges. We need to work to get this Amendment, or one that changes the government to these ends, passed and put in the Constitution.

1. The legislative function of the United States shall be performed directly by the people according to Article I of the Constitution and legislation that the people enact. If a bill is passed it is then sent to the President for signature, veto, or pocket veto, following Article I Section 7 of this constitution.

3. One ninth of the Federal Judiciary shall be elected every year by the citizens of their respective jurisdictions. Currently filled judgeships will be elected in reverse order of their years of service, longest serving is next to be elected until all have been elected.

The right of citizens Of the United States to directly vote for the laws under which they live, to directly carry out all other legislative functions stated in Article I of the Constitution, to directly vote for the President and Vice President, and to directly vote for the Judiciary, shall not be abridged by the United States or by any State.

Trump University settlement

Our President-elect has admitted he's a thief. But who doesn't know that. The American have tried honor and hope and hard work to live like people on tv and it didn't work. So now they want to try lying, fraud, stealing, cheating, and every underhanded thing imaginable. But I think history shows that doesn't work either. Pity.

Why and how Trump won

I've been going over why the Republicans in the non-urban areas supported Trump and believe he will "make America great, again" and what they believe that means. First, what is the cause of their being disgruntled. The economy is just a small part. What I have concluded is that they believe they no longer are "special". As I grew up and then older I saw the color and race of America changing. We whites were 87% of the country. "We" made the decisions, chose the path to the future. We were in charge. We were special. With television and movies and legal actions, starting with Brown vs. School Board, where "separate but equal" was shot down - by an all white Supreme Court"- integration of blacks into the "white" communities got sped up and 'normalized'. Whites were no longer "as special", they lost some "specialness". Then the Spanish migration came from various countries, mostly legal. And Asian peoples joined the few who already here. Whites were less andless "special". Obama's election was like a final blow, nothing was 'sacred' anymore. While the majority of us cheered that the U.S. has matured to the point that we had a black President, many in the rural areas saw the bottom drop out of the their world-view and their view of themself, and of the nation. Then the economy went bad, schools went bad, etc. And many Asian Indians and Middle Eastern Arabs came to America, and illegal latino immigrants were here in large numbers. And we whites had less and less reason to believe we were 'running things, and were "special". We were "loosing" OUR Country. And THEY wanted it back, like it was. Well, you won't get it. And you won't get it because we still believe what the Declaration of independence says: "All men are created equal..." That means there are no special people. Whites are not special. Blacks are not Special. Asians and Arabs and Latinos aren't special. Trump tapped into this loss of "being on top" and won the election. But he can't make whites "special, again", because we never were. We are all Americans, entitled to all the rights and privileges everyone else is entitled to. We are all "involved in mankind". We might know it but its true. My advice to the "disgruntled" white community is what the comedian lady said to the Bernie supporters at the convention: "Get over it" There are no special people. Work together or get out of the way. You've b locked the way, here in 2016, for a few years, maybe even decades, but "the truth will out". We whites are not special and Trump is certainly not the person who is going to make us "special again. Sorry its so long.

Prepare for the attack on the Bill of Rights and 'illegal immigrants"

We'll need to put away food and books, preparing for thousands of American "Ann Franks". And we need to re-read how to form a resistance, from Camus and the French writers of Combat. We should get copies of Orwell 1984 and Animal House. We should put away some cash so the Homeland Security can't track bank withdrawals, etc. We can stand against this coming deportation and loss of Freedoms. The Trump Administration is preparing, we should too. Soon the right of assembly will go, the right of protest, and then free speech. "Political correctness" is under attack and that means the First Amendment, with the "New Judges" to support it all. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Preparing for the Trump Presidency

We should start thinking about making our cellars and attics places where we can hide our friends and families from the Trump deportation troops. We should start thinking how we can get arms, for home and family protection. Perhaps we should join the NRA so they will assist us in getting and keeping weapons.

Trump won - who didn't know that?

Here is a peer of Jefferson, Washington, Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John Kennedy,Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama, named Donald Trump. He is not their equal, but his our President. He will meet this responsibility as best he can. I am fearful that the best he can do is too little to assist us in going positively into the future. I think he is unfit and unworthy of the responsibilities we the people have given him. We shall survive, but not prosper. The intelligentsia of this nation has brought a revolt against its philosophy and arrogance. But the price the rebels will have to pay may well be too great cost. Trump is still a degenerate moral, sexual, intellectual, and human being. I, for one, will not look upon this man as anything but a fascist fool.

Comey puts himself in election again: Hillary emails clean.

Comey says Hillary's emails are not a cause of FBI action. He has interfered in the election, for the third time. I hope Hillary gets a "bump" in the voting, but I still think Comey should be fired and loose his pension. He's dispicable, a coward that panders to the Republican congress, and his personal prejudices. Pathetic person to run the FBI.

Take emotion out of your election selection

It's imperative that we set aside hate and vicious attitudes and look coldly and logically into this election: Trump is a worthless stupid terrible human being with no experience in government, many failures in business, is a sexual pervert, a lying dog, a foul mouth disrespectful fool, and totally unfit to be a dog catcher, let alone a President. Now, what I really think is....

Trump is a degenerate

Donald Trump is a degenerate: morally, physically, intellectually, sexully, and spiritually. He believes you must lie, cheat, steal, rob, conive, use, abuse, and bully to be successful. It is the Trump way and he wants to make it the American way. A vote for Trump is a vote for American degeneracy, not American greatness.

Comey and His Dirty Tricks

Republican Comey is using his office at the FBI, not evidence or justice, to determine the election. He should be viewed as he is: a Republican using every 'dirty trick' that can be found, to destroy his reputation and the Government of the United States. This is a dangerous, selfish, and wrong person to tell you how to vote. And that is what he is doing. Don't let yourself be swung on the basis of rumor. And that's all he's given America. He's an FBI rumor mill. Nothing else.

Actual Democracy, one more time, for the election..

We need to vote directly on the laws under which we live. We need to vote directly for the President, and we need to elect the Federal Judges. All of the Government must be directly answerable to the people. Money will not be able to buy our representatives because we won't have any legislative representatives. Political equality follows from each person having the same power over their own life and over the life of the country. Freedom follows along. The 1% buys our representatives every election and after every election. We debate over social media. We vote electronically over television shows: The Voice, American Idol, etc. We can and should debate our laws and debate over our executive officers and federal judges and then vote for them. The will of the people should be the Government. We don't need represented. We are wise enough to govern ourselves. Our Representatives rule us. Rousseau called Representatives the elected Aristocracy. There will be no small group to be corrupted by fame, power, money, and ego. We will make mistakes and then correct them, like Prohibition. Actual Democracy is the only way for a people to be free and equal. The Founding Fathers knew this but chose to have an elite group of professional politicians govern us because they concluded man was Not Wise enough to govern himself. All but Jefferson. Jefferson's reply was, If man is not wise enough to govern himself, he sould govern others? See assocactualdemocracy.com.

The Trump phenomenon and Philosophy

Flim-flam flip-flop Donald Trump has risen to power by corrupting the willing. The racists and haters, in all their multitude of shapes and forms, simply know they are 'superior' to the others. The only way Trump could fully tap the power of the lost and disgruntled was to lead a cause of 'recovery' to a time of  'good and plenty' and to a philosophy supporting victimhood for the lost and disgruntled that justified how they became 'separate' from the recovering and hopeful.  The Birther idea was born and those who needed an explanation of how a black man became president were supplied with it. He was simply illegitimate. Barack Hussein Obama's color, race, intellect, character, temperament, ambition and drive to help did not disqualify him from becoming President of the United States. The people chose him despite the nagging unsupported racism nature appears to start us off with: the racism that we all must overcome when seeking 'the better angels of our nature': the racism based on the fear of the unknown. People who are different, yet who are also competitors for our necessities; people we can blame our troubles on, like the Christians who blamed the Jews led to Hitler and the holocaust; like the U.S. imprisoning the American Japanese, during World War II. Trump gave the conspiracy seekers the excuse that explained how Obama won over the voters: he was illegitimate "By Birth", and probably by upbringing and religion. He was one of the 'other' and so he must be justly shown to be impure, failing in all things, wrong in all things, evil in all things, evil in all ways. Just as the Jews who had 'killed Christ', who were clannish, who helped each other economically while taking from the non-jews, building their ghettos and working against 'The real Children of God'.

The lesser bigots of the Republican Party had already started the 'Opposition to Obama', the opposition to the 'BLACK MAN' who had won the majority of the people's votes but who was not worthy of the office and power put into his hands.

Nature and history gave us flim-flam flip-flop Donald Trump and he gave us the 'birther movement' and the republicans rewarded him by giving him their Nomination. Obama was to be overcome, his successor was to be defeated, the power to spread the gospel of  bigotry, hate, descension would support the Superiority of the Republican philosophy, of Trump's philosophy, that the emigrant Latino's, the Blacks, Moslems, all foreigners, even women, were inferior, unworthy of sharing any power, unworthy of any respect, simply unworthy, like the 'unclean' of the old Hindu caste system. Apartheid for America, brought to you by flim-flam flip-flop Donald Trump and the Republican party that didn't, and doesn't, oppose him.

When the good people don't raise up in opposition tyranny will prevail. Vote for a future of continued recovery from the Republican mess the republican Bush administration gave us. Vote for a future of rewarded hard work and where our progeny can carry on making a more perfect nation. Don't vote for the lost and disgruntled whiners who believe themselves to be 'The Real Americans'.  We have always repudiated would be Kings, would be saviors, would be 'special people'.  When Jefferson said "All men are created equal" he was also saying no one is created special.

Trump quits as Birther-in-Chief

After 5 years of deliberately stating and pushing the conspiracy theory that President Obama was not born in the U.S. Donald Trump said Obama was born in the U.S. He didn't say why he fought against the truth he finally admitted, when he knew it was true from the beginning. Why? He was playing the American people for fools, even has 30% of the people still believing that lie, that he knew was a lie for 5 years. He is a very confused and immoral person. Probably a textbook paranoid and a born looser. Which, if my father was correct and,"You cannot overestimate the ignorance of the American People, us included." means Trump, as sick and despicable as he is, will probably win. Meaning that a sick paranoid will be the President of the United States. We have met the enemy and it is us.

Hillary and Trump on "Commander in Chief"

"Stupid is as Stupid does." Trump did say many "stupid things".  "I have a Plan". I won't tell you the plan.  Stupid!
"President didn't take his advisors advice." They aren't advisors. They are 'analysts' who just give the facts, Jack. Stupid!
Putin is a good leader. Stupid!
"The generals have been reduced to 'rubble'". Stupid!
His old tweet that rape was a result of putting men and women together (justifying rape?). Stupid!
Trump knew absolutely nothing about the V.A. and said some of the suicides were caused by them being in pain and not having medicine when it's the other way around: they have too many opioids prescribed and are addicted. Stupid!

Hillary finally said she had a separate Government Server for the "Top Secret", etc. information she handled. And her private server was for public information.  The Congressional Committees are going to round NINE of failing to prove anything was wrong.  No harm came from the personal server.  Except the millions of dollars in time and energy of the Committee's to nail Hillary Clinton for not harming anyone and doing exactly what Colin Powell had done. !Stupid

What's wrong is all the Republicans trying to put lipstick on Trump and make a bright competent person out of him.  Can't be done. Stupid!

Comparing the Candidates

Hillary Clinton has made history. Donald Trump has made money. Hillary has been the first lady for 8 years, Senator for 6 years, Secretary of State for 4 years. Few people have served America so well and been insulted so much for doing so. I find the disrespect she has gotten from friends and foes alike, terribly insulting to my rather lax morality. Trump is a flim-flam flip-flop incoherent self-aggrandizing person with few, if any, principles and no public service. Imagine the audacity of entering politics by running for President. Well, why not start at the top? He says he's smart (and few smart people ever say anything so foolish). His judgement is questionable: three wives, three campaign chairpersons, and three positions on every important subject. Every day his flunkies have to come on television and say to the country what Donald Trump meant when he said something the day before. Why? Why do they have to explain? Because he doesn't know what he means and his incoherence needs clarified, or lied about. Pitiful.

Hillary and Bill Clinton and the Republicans

Just perhaps, just perhaps the Department of Justice doesn't indict Hillary because she didn't break any laws. The republicans have made charges and 8 House of Representative investigations failed to dig up one shred of evidence to lead to a charge and indictment. Perhaps, just perhaps it all is "right wing" conspiracy against the Clintons whose only failure was to serve 8 years as President (Bill), 6 years in the Senate (Hillary), and 4 years of Secretary of State (Hillary) by my count that's more service to their country than any couple in history. What the Republicans should do is just say "Thank you, "Mr. President and madam secretary" and shut up. Like they had good sense.

Donald Trump is in a pinch. We've found out that he's the Grinch.
All the things that in the night go thump and bump,
are friends and fiends of Donald Trump.
Donald Trump says Mexicans are thieves and rapists,
all Muslims are terrorists, and opponents who don't flinch
are crooked targets demeaned and scorned
Yet you're the biggest Thumping Bumping terrorist of them all
Donald Trump.

Trump soliciting murder of Hillary Clinton

Trump didn't solicit murder anymore than O'Reilly did. Not anymore than his wife committed plagiarism. If you remember, only two weeks ago, Trump and his campaign flunkies swore, for two days, there was no Plagiarism. Then they said, after two days of fervent defense saying she was innocent, that , yeah, she was guilty. Trump is a vicious, thoughtless (though he thinks he can fool all of us all of the time), absolute liar, and desparate as any human being ever was to be in the limelight. But soliciting murder of Mrs. Clinton is going too far, and is a crime. He should be arrested and charged. Any jury of liberals would say "lock him up" and any jury of Republicans would say, He's innocent. Whatever he is, he isn't innocent. He is just the most despicable person I've ever seen. And I used to think it was me.

Another Trump note ... Can't help myself

He's totally irrational, old Gruppenfuhrer Trump, but not certifiable. His disease is the "salesman syndrome", where you believe you can convince someone else of anything you say by the force and control you use in saying it. It's a form of the Neocon philosophy: what I say is the truth because I define what is true. The whole Republican party has fallen prey to it. Ryan says Trump is a racist and then supports him, making Ryan a racist, just like most Republicans tend to be. And on and on with misogynist, unprincipled, etc. etc. So the down ticket SHOULD go down in flames. Trump has conned the Republicans to publicly admit what they are. You got to love this stuff.

Note on Trump

Donald Trump is a sharp desperate man. He's desperate for fame and power. But he lacks the dignity, humor, and humanity to deserve them. He has no real empathy for the history of our country and the struggles that it took to build it. There is something real in inexperience in public service: you don't end up thinking of yourself first when you have served the people. He can't govern because he lacks the deep understanding of what governing is: doing the peoples business, not your own. All the talk about his unsuitability and shakey character, lack of morals and contempt for civility is correct, but it won't win when the votes of the uncivil. This race comes down to love of country verses contempt of government. When people believe they can change the government, without changing the country, they miss the whole point. I would only caution all of us, if you seek change for the sake of change, be careful of what you get. Greece got Alexander, Rome got Caesar, England got Henry the Eighth, France got Napoleon, Germany got Hitler, Russia got Stalin, and on and on... Power corrupts, especially a corrupt person seeking to get it.

Plagiarism revisited...

The Trump school of plagiarism is in disarray. Paul Manafort, the campaign manager, said there, for two days, there was no plagiarism, just common words. He was lying and the whole nation knew he was lying. Then Meredith McIver fell on her sword and said she was to blame. Making Manafort a double-down liar, for two days, and someone who wasn't well respected before he got and television and lied to people, in front of God and everybody else. They stole Michelle Obama words praising he upbringing and her husband, because they were the best praise of a husband and family morals they could find. Then, when their theft of the creative product of Michelle Obama was easily made, they sent out a memo to all the campaign works to deny the truth. To lie to America and the world. And they did. Especially Manafort. Vicious, unprincipled man that he has been for years, like the man who hired him, Donald Trump. We can never believe a word Trump or his campaign says again, if we ever could. They are all unprincipled, liars with no moral, no honor, no principles, and no respect. And they say the Obamas are not to be trusted. Seems like Trump and all around him are just scum. Pity.

Melania Trumps plagiarizerism

Melania Trumps plagiarizerism was more than taking Michelle Obama's words. She, or they, wanted to take her creative spirit, her success at communicating her respect and affection to the husband she honored, worked with, argued with, believed in, as Michelle had done in 2008 when her husband, Barrack Hussein Obama, when he had first been nominated to be the Democratic candidate for President. They wanted to take that and give it to Melania. She only got the words, at best, as she could remember them. She didn't get the respect and affection into her speech because her husband isn't worthy of it and she couldn't talk herself into believing he was. Anyway, plagiarism is more than failure to attribute quotes stated to the author or originator of the words. It is stealing the creative product of another person. And that is a normal Trumpism: take what you want, then lie about taking it, and screw up how you use it. Damned fools can't even do something wrong right.

Trump & his VP, Pence

The Republicans are beautiful: the VP pick, Gov. Mike Pence, and Donald Trump, both sold out on their personal philosophies,. personal moralities. Trump is a racist, anti-establishment, billionaire; Pence is a staunch anti-abortionist, conservative to the bone, and has previously damned Trump on his racism and bigotry. But they both say the other guy is ok, now. Talk about sellouts, they sold out their stated opinions because, I guess, "winning is everything", principles be damned. "Good old boys selling their souls for the hope of votes from people they hope don't have any principles or honor, also.

Racism

There's a discussion going on about the state of racism in the United States. There is a great example in the congressional treatment of President Obama. They opposed him on many issues not because of philosophy or political stance: they opposed his policies because he is a black man. As racist and obvious a fact as one can see. It is written large across the acts of Congress. The Republican leadership, at a minimum, is obviously racist. And it is a shame.

On Hilary Clinton's Email Servers, according to James Comey

James Comey, the head of the FBI, put the gratuitous statement in his report that "it is possible" that Hilary Clinton's email server was hacked. Since it is possible that it was hacked then it is possible that the 110 documents the FBI found were put there by the Hackers. Or by God, or possibly by Comer himself. The man said there was no evidence of the servers being breached then added it was possible - with no need to say so. It's a Republican bone thrown to the Republican Clinton "Haters". So much for his renowned "integrity", the man's a bigoted, prejudiced, tool. And he degraded himself to aid the bigoted, racist, foolish, ugly, Donald Trump; just like all the other "honorable" high ranking Republicans. Something is rotten in America when 'honorable' men are supporting an ignorant racist, bully, and thief (See Trump University), named Donald Trump. "What fools these mortals be."

The media and the News

The media is on my mind. They have abdicated "reporting" the news and have decided to "explain" the news after they have defined what is news. The first problem is they believe that our human fallibility, our fair percentage of actions and statements being "wrong" or contradictory,  is news. They wish to show the "human" in others is a failure in them. Mistakes are not what "good people" make. Trump has shoved that opinion down their throat and they are choking on it. The world of mankind is not just intellect, it is also character. But the media will attack those whose "character" does not meet their definition of "good character". The failure of the media is the belief that it's prejudices and definitions of "good" should be that of the people. It is the other way around. What the people believe to be "good" is the basis of moral judgments. The media are trying to not only define the news, but to make the news, and to entertain us with the news. It's failing in all three spots. Pity.

The whining Middle Class

The middle class is whining. The 1% gets too much money from their work and they don 't get enough. Well, it's true. It has always been true, it's just more greedy and unconscionable today. So what? The middle class let their Unions do what their government had previously done: get corrupted or taken over by the 1%. The 1% has bought the Union Representatives, what few there are left, just like they did the Congressmen and Senators. You can't take your country back because you never had it! This is a Republic, which means an elected aristocracy (Rousseau) and the 'real' Nobles are the multi-billionaires. Unit you represent yourself, until each voice is backed up by each vote, directly for the laws we live under, directly on how to spend 4 trillion dollars every year, you will never have equality of anything; not opportunity, not before the law, not in the economy, not in political power, not, as just said, anything. We need an actual democracy. And we need to start fighting for it now: end inequality, end powerlessness, end the Oligarchy of the Rich. There are no superior people. Especially not our Representatives. assocactualdemocracy.com.

Donald Trump's Failures

Donald Trump's Failures:
Three Marriages. He was unfaithful to his wives, his vowels, and his intentions when making the vowels.
Doesn't honor his contracts: 3500 suits for non-payment. The ART of TRUMP's Deal is to not honor the deal. Use workers and subcontractors to make money on one end and don't pay them on the other end.
Failure as a citizen: Doesn't pay any taxes. Changed his political party. Changes his mind instantly if he sees a chance to make money, or now, to get votes.
Negotiates for his products to be made overseas where there are no unions, no government laws protecting against child labor, poor conditions of manufacture, and so he sells bad products under his name to the public.
He is the exceptional dis-honorable, lying, conniving, crooked New York businessman who has robbed nearly everybody he's done business with.
His answer for conflict: torture human beings. That's a "nice deal", that's a really good negotiating method.
If the Nation is failing economically "print more money". That's a thoughtful way to completely destroy a nation, that's a good negotiating tactic: cheat the whole world. It's worked for him all his life.
Financial success based on complete moral failures.
No principals, no integrity, no accountability, no honesty, and blames it all on other people, "The Mexican rapists", "The Muslim terrorists', "The irreligious", "the Administration", everybody who is not TRUMP.
Trump is a human failure, a failure as a human being: no service to the people,

Reaction to Britain Exiting the European Market and Trump

I fully understand the working people who have spent the last 8 years pulling us out of the Republican major recession and very little to show for it. I understand that you were cheated, mostly by the major corporations, probably with the help of your political representatives. But believing that just not supporting another politician is going to help is not overly sensible. First, the corporations were able to make tons of money and give the workers peanuts because we don't have Unions anymore. At least not unions in most areas, certainly not in small businesses, and in large businesses only a few that are fighting for the average worker. Ronald Reagan brought this to us, incompetent actor, and president, that he was. Communism has failed for the same reason: nobody looking out for the average citizen. Second, we can raise up and just put foolish people into office to have foolish people do more foolish things that do not represent an advance in our most basic needs: more of the capital that we generate going into our pockets, and not into the rich republicans pockets, where it won't be spent and won't be taxed. Do not bite off your nose to spite your face, it's not that bad a face. We fell asleep for half a generation. Don 't deliberately put hyour head in the sand and pretend you're asleep, hoping a complete fool will not do something foolish enough to cost us three generations of possible improvement.

The only way to solve current government failures.

There is only one way to change the money in politics, the gun policy, the climate change denial, and economic policy; and that's not to change the Representatives who are bribed by the NRA and the gun manufacturers, bribed by the 1%. The only way to change things is to remove Representatives from the process of law making where the people present bills and vote on laws directly. We need to Fire Congress and become the Legislature ourselves. We need an Actual Democracy. See: assocactualdemocracy.com

morality

Morality starts and ends with the concept of equality. If there are superior people who can treat others as less valuable than themselves then morality cannot exist. It's that simple. If someone else is a tool to your ends then you have no morality. We are all equal, as Jefferson noted, or there is oppression, slavery, and war. And no one is equal to the lawmakers until we all make and vote directly on the laws. See assocactualdemocracy.com

Answer to Cuomo attacking "Citizens United" allowing huge money in politics

Of course the rich "buy" our Representatives. It's the oldest story in government, see Cassius lending money to Caesar. Of course the Supreme Court was wrong in saying the rich can buy the Representatives and it is a form of "free speech". Our Founding Politicians made sure they were the ones who made he laws, picked the President, picked the Judges, NOT THE PEOPLE. Now that we all know what history has demonstrated, the rich buy the Representatives, everyone is saying "we have to change this". No one is saying how. They look at it from the wrong side, actually backwards. We don't need to remove the money from buying the representatives from our politics, for two reasons. First it doesn't work, (see history, again). Secondly, the only way to be free of this influence, and politically free, with full and equal protection of the laws, is to make the U.S. an ACTUAL DEMOCRACY. We must vote directly on the laws we live under. We must vote directly for the Executives to administer the laws, we must vote directly for the Judges. When there is no one to bribe, when the people vote on the laws, they are free from the Oligarchic influence that "Citizens United" gives the rich and powerful. Nothing else will do it. see assocactualdemocracy.com. We must remove the Representatives and govern ourselves. There is no Democracy anywhere and there has never been one in history. The people have never ruled themselves.

Sanders solution to money in politics is too narrow, too small.

The rich buy the Representatives in the House and Senate of the United States before the Representatives even run for their office. Being 'supported' by the rich, after they call you in and flatter you about being one of those who "think alike" with the decision members of this party, is the only way the Representative can accept the 'donation', talk himself into believing the flattery is true, and then faithfully climb into the rich 'supporters' pocket, like the 'good man' they believe themselves to be.  Nothing on Earth can stop this scenario. Revolution after revolution has replaced the corrupt receivers of bribes with the 'good men' who have revolted to 'stop the corruption' only to see the new 'good leaders' get corrupted and another generation or two later a new Revolution is required.

Now, Bernie Sanders wants to take money ojut of politics, take the influence of the super rich, out of politics, take the 1% that corrupt the Representatives out of politics. Not very much of a new idea.

The only way to end this cycle of revolution and corruption is take the Representatives out of the equation. There will always be rich and powerful men ready and willing to bribe any and all
legislative Representatives. Who make the rules, rules. They rule the country by getting the laws they want enacted by their corrupted Representatives. So you stop them by making the laws YOURSELF. You vote for the laws, not your Representatives. Not your Congressman and not your Senator. The people vote directly on the laws under which they live. This take one small Amendment to the Constitution; something like this:

 1. The legislative function of the United States shall be performed directly by the people according to Article I of the Constitution and legislation that the people enact. If a bill is passed it is then sent to the President for signature, veto, or pocket veto, following Article I Section 7 of this constitution.

And, if you're going to bother to change the Constitution section on voting, whcih has been changed 7 time already, Then add:

  2. The President and Vice President of the United States shall be directly elected by the people to four year terms and shall not serve more than two such terms.
3. One ninth of the Federal Judiciary shall be elected every year by the citizens of their respective jurisdictions. Currently filled judgeships will be elected in reverse order of their years of service, longest serving is next to be elected until all have been elected.
4. The right of citizens Of the United States to directly vote for the laws under which they live, to directly carry out all other legislative functions stated in Article I of the Constitution, to directly vote for the President and Vice President, and to directly vote for the Judiciary, shall not be abridged by the United States or by any State.

Then, Senator Sanders, hyou have a real revolution, that will end with an ACTUAL DEMOCRACY, With the people running their own government, and everyone being EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW, which is the very function of a government with a Constitution. Unless you are one of the Rich and Powerful or a Representative.

Obama = Worst President: NOT TRUE

Wrong. Bigoted Untruthful. Saved us from a depression. Killed Osama Bin Lauden when the Republicans let him hide in Pakistan. Health care for millions more. Unemployment rate from 12% down to 5%. Millions and millions of jobs created. 5, sount them, 5 American service died from conflicts they were in or around last year, not thousands. Torture, you remember no " cruel or unsusual punishments" prohibited by the 8th amendment. Stock market tripled in value. Car production largest in history in U.S. Which of these FACTS make him the worst President? Just your believing lies because a "Republican" talking head said them. You let yourself be used and they use you. Look this stuff up. Don't repeat stupidity because you're lazy.

Greed is not good...

The founding fathers said all men are created equal, knowing it to be true,.But nonetheless kept slaves and killed damned near all the Indians. Our intelligence did not overpower our greed. Greed is not good. Greed says others are objects for improving the life of the greedy and damn all the other people. It is the basis of all immorality: Me before all others is immoral, stupid, and built in to us by evolution. When the churches say our Nature must  be overcome it is this selfish, greedy, portion of our nature, coming from greed and fear, that they mean.

Note on Trump

Trump is the worlds greatest WHINER. He makes himself the victim every time he opens his mouth. He makes America the victim of other countries. The American People the victim of other peoples. He is wrong. We are far better off than others and working hard to make their lives better too.We have shown the world equality at work can lead to poorly educated, over forceful, self-centered people can become billionaires.

Gypsies, Trumps,  and thieves.

Trump has flip-flopped so many times the pancake is a ball.

Rejuvenation and longevity

In 1989 I started by delusional thinking. Very long life is thermodynamically possible, probable, and therefore inevitable.
If the nominal chemical content of the various cells of the 25 year old body are maintained then the whole body will work as the 25 year old body works. Molecular content can be kept nominal by adding energy to the cellular process that will maintain the nominal concentrations of the thousand or so molecules of each of the 20 to 40 or so types of cells in the body. The concept is simple and clean and rests on the second law: you can do what you want in a chemical system if you pay the energy and matter price to do it. The 25 year old body does it so it can be done. But it isn't easy.
De Grey's method looks attractive because it points to why the molecular nominal concentrations fall below nominal, garbage collection fails to keep up. Help it keep up an you get closer to nominal.
But the De Pinho and Sahan telermerase experiments show that you can keep things near to nominal by keeping the cells from stepping on themselves by unwinding the chromosomes and having genes corrupted.
The stem cell research shows that if we can keep them working their daughter cells will be closer to nominal than aged cells concentrations are.
Parabiosis has shown that the young body produces molecules that keep the bodies various cell types with nominal concentrations. The Harvard group under Amy Wagers, and other groups, says gdf11 and other protein concentrations fall off in the body as it ages and papabiosis pushes the concentrations back toward nominal in the old body with the greater concentration from the young. More than other procedures this tends to support the idea that nominal cell molecular concentrations for each of the various cell types is something that bio-engineering can accomplish.
Rejuvenation and longevity are an information problem: the nominal concentrations need to be documented, their maintenance needs to be understood, and natures failure to maintain them needs to be corrected. The young body does it, naturally. Science will assist the body to maintain nominal concentrations once the research concludes what nominal is and how nature keeps it nominal.

Republican War on Women

The Republican's war on women is an old long policy: The great "Ronald Reagan" personally propagandized against the women's rights Constitutional Amendment while he was President and kept it from becoming the law of the land. The Republican's shoved the lying and incompetent Justice Clarence Thomas, who knowingly lied on the Senate floor about his sexual discrimination illegal actions he committed while running the executive office that heard such cases, down America's throat in 1992, George Bush's last year in office. It was a disgrace to Truth, Justice, and all of America, but especially to the Women of this nation. And now the Republicans won't do their Constitutional Duty to address Obama's Appointment to the Supreme Court.
They say women should die before having abortions and they mean it. And they have written state laws saying just that every year since the Supreme Court ruled on the Constitutionality of Abortion in 1972, making abortion totally legal. There is a War on Women and woman's legal rights and the Republicans are running it. Just like they have run the Racial discrimination policy against President Obama.

Republican revolution.

The Republican 'revolt' against being the majority party in the 10 poorest and 10 worst educated states is easily understandable. The Republican base isn't the religious, rich, and conservative: it is people hoping to get rich, have a local minister, and contact with someone who can get them a patronage job. And for the last 8 years they haven't gotten the jobs, become rich, or seen a new minister. But now, the "revolutionary' candidates have really shown what the leadership really is: lacking dignity, without respect and totally lacking in honor. Trump and Cruz have no dignity, no respect, and totally lack honor, not honorable in their views, their speech, or even their background.

Response to NYT opinionator: "Is Humanity Getting Better?"

There are several noticeable, yet overlooked, accomplishments and failings of mankind in this essay: We really are not Democracies, no citizens vote directly on the laws under which they live. Most "democracies" are republics where the people vote for Representatives who end up failing to represent the people who voted for them. Power is used selfishly, or for the 'special' interests. So actual Democracy does not exist and we must aspire to it, work for it, demand it. Who makes the rules "Rules". A second point is we know the purpose of mankind is to survive until reproduction. Consequently we should be working toward very long life spans, thousands of years, as well as freeing ourselves from the coercion of the genes to "survive until reproduction". This is simply "freedom to obey" the forces of nature, the oxytocin rewards and the vasopressin punishments of the neural-endocrine motivation pathways of our bodies. Our knowledge of physics, chemistry, biochemistry, and biology will soon give us influence over our purpose and our very form and functions. We must use this power for our benefit. The stars beckon and we will answer. Freedom beckons and we embrace it along with the political equality that will support it. We need to aspire to more than getting laid and watching our favorite sports team "win". We should influence evolution, it is too important to any longer be left to chance. We should "cure death", as Aubrey de Grey advocates; and make life "more perfect", scientifically.

Why Trump IS the best the Republican Party has.

What the 'Republican Establishment' doesn't understand is that the people in the Republican Party are sick and tired of not being represented by their Representatives. Their votes are cast and then disregarded. The two junior Senators of Cuban ancestorage are both good examples of this. They haven't done anything but aide the Senate is blocking the governing of America. They are not only not doing anything, they are keeping others from doing anything. Trump is winning because he is a better person, more truthful, more self-confident,less dependent on the Rich, who buy all the elections. Trump is the best candidate the people of the Republican Party see out there. And they are Right. Donald Trump is best Republican left, because of the void of work and effort For the People. Now they look around and say "Trump can't be the best Republican". But they are wrong, he is. And consequently, the real politicians who have worked for the Nation for the last 20 years will bury the Republicans in the general election. Not one Republican candidate can point to any accomplishment that made America better. They even failed in their prime aspiration, stopping Obama. The economy is better. More people are working. More people have health care, energy prices are down, the people feel better now than 8 ears ago: while the Republicans fought against these things happening. They now have the least competent candidate in history because he is the best the Republican party members have. Good.
